Hanging With Kids at The Moxie Spot in Brooklyn Heights
When choosing a place to meet up with family who has a small child (in addition to my 14-month old), we needed to choose a restaurant kid-friendly and casual.
After some research we chose The Moxie Spot on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Hicks. A perfect place for families with little children (and in this area there are plenty of strollers on the streets), this restaurant pleases all. A menu with breakfast all day, sandwiches, individual pizzas and more is great for parents; while snacks for kids will keep those mid-day munchies at bay.
Immediately upon entering the restaurant, the kid-friendliness of the establishment shows itself with the little play area on the left side of the room with a large flat-screen tv, chalkboard, soft rubber mats and plenty of toys and books to keep your kid occupied. This was extremely helpful as we could keep an eye on our playing toddler while we finally were able to enjoy a full meal without much distraction from loud children at the table. Instead of traditional waitress service, you place your order at the counter up front, take a number and then wait at your table for your food to be delivered. The food portions were on the small side for some entrees while sides such as our Sweet Potato french fries were more than enough.
The Moxie Spot also has private rooms for plenty of children to enjoy private parties and special events. Weekly events such as Disco Nights, Bingo Nights and other special activities are constantly offered.
Verdict: This is a great spot for kids of all ages and a wonder for all parents to be able to relax long enough for a great meal out. 718-923-9710
